Grand Tour of the old Homestead
August 12, 2016
I've been here six months.  Let's see how the home improvements are going...

In the doorway from the kitchen into
the shed, looking at my office...
Same place, looking up.  That whole
panel between the clock and the
electric cord opens...

Another aborted lava hike...
August 16, 2016
I had to go to Pahoa to check out a job (white line) and since I was down that way I thought I'd check out the scene at the
lava flow from the other end (red line).  I made it out about a mile and a half and turned back.  I just wasn't that into it!  It
was really hot with not much of a breeze...

Not like that last time I was here!  There as no road!  This is easy!

Last house...  Notice that you could put
that sucker on a trailer and haul it out
of there if need be!

I don't know what this is...

After about a mile and a half I was getting hot and tired so I crawled into a bush to get some shade.  As you can see, there
isn't a whole lot of shade around.  I decided to head back.  I just didn't have the gumption to walk another 3 miles to get
there and especially another 4 miles to get back!
