I decided to get another look at the neighborhood.  I live on sort of a dead-end road.  The road ends (power lines stop) but
up on the highway where I went north to check on some construction, then turned around and followed the roads back
home.  I ended up going 6 miles in 2 hrs and 43 minutes...  Waypoint markers are:  diamonds for waypoints, stars for

End of the road...  Power line ends...

This is the way I decided to go...
There's a truck there in the distance...

Zoom.  See?

A 4WD could do this easily...  I think the first picture is looking back and
the second one is looking forward.  I forget...  Anyway, this is what it looks
like!

It's a Saturn.  Not really a 4WD
vehicle.  There's a lot of this in Hawaii -
people leaving old junk cars out in
places like this.  It's a shame...!  Notice
the tree across the road...

Another tree across the road.

peeked through a crack but I couldn't
see anything.

Somebody just put that there.  Notice
where somebody pushed it into place.

Onward...!

Go back to the map at the beginning of
this hike and take a peek at what's

I'm getting near the highway.  Can you
see the telephone pole and wires in
the distance?
11:54 AM @ *040
Not the pole in front of the bananas to
the left of the road.  Further back than
that...
Wow!  Cool trees!  See the wires now?
you get this view of Pu'u O'o.  This is
that you can actually see it...  It's about
7 miles away...
